Dr. Jamie L. Nix
Director of Wind Ensemble Activities and Associate Professor of Music
Dr. Jamie L. Nix was appointed in 2010 as the Director of Wind Ensemble Activities and Associate Professor of Music at the Schwob School of Music, Columbus State University. He conducts the CSU Wind Ensemble, Wind Orchestra, and heads the winds graduate conducting program.
Dr. Nix previously served as Associate Director of Bands and the Donald R. Shepherd Assistant Professor of Conducting at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and as Assistant Director of Bands at The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music. Nix holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, two Master of Music degrees in Wind Conducting and Trombone Performance from the University of Michigan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Auburn University.
