Welcome to Move-In-Mania 2008! Following are the instructions for Preseason Camp attendees moving into a Quad residence hall or Extension apartment on Friday, August 8.
Quad Residents:
Please check in (pick up your key, etc.) at Burton Hall which is across the street from Goodwin Hall where you will be registering for preseason camp. Check-in at Burton is from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We know you are on a very tight schedule on August 8 which means that you may have to go to your first camp activity before you have finished moving in your belongings, Your parents or whomever is assisting you with move-in may continue to move your belongings into your room if you are not present. If this is the case, remember to give them your room key (and, obviously, make arrangements to retrieve it) because your room door should always be locked when no one is present in the room.
The main entry doors to the residence halls will be unlocked from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on August 8. Your ID card gives you access to your residence hall via card readers on several entry doors when the building is locked. Residence Life staff who live with you in the residence halls will be making preparations for a very busy move-in day on August 9 but they will make an effort to meet you while you are moving in.
When you go to the Quad area to unload, you will park your vehicle(s) either in Quad Dr. or along the curb on the west side of Mell St. (same side as the residence halls). You will be given a map when you check in. Please unload your belongings onto the sidewalk and then move your vehicle(s) immediately so other students who are moving in can temporarily park to unload. Make sure someone in your party stays with your belongings while your vehicle is being moved. Parking monitors will be in the Quad Dr. and Mell St. areas to assist with traffic flow and to answer any parking-related questions.
Where to park? You (and other members of your party) may park your vehicle in:
- any C zone until classes begin
- all zones in the Stadium parking deck until classes begin
- any A and B zone from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Monday-Friday and from 5:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday now and throughout the semester.
Extension Residents:

You may park your vehicle in the RE (Resident Extension) parking lots in close proximity to the Extension. Enforcement of the RE zones will not begin until Monday, August 18. The other areas you may park your vehicle include:
- any C zone until classes begin
- all zones in the Stadium parking deck until classes begin
- any A and B zone from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Monday-Friday and from 5:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday now and throughout the semester.
