Thanks so much to all our participants in our 2010 Symphonic Honor Band Festivals. In particular, we’d like to congratulate the principal players in both the Junior High/Middle School and High School Wind Symphonies, whom we’ve listed on the Honor Bands webpages. You are the best of the best in the state, and we are honored to have you participate in our festival. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

The Auburn University Bands welcomes all participants, parents, and directors to the first ever Symphonic Honor Band for Junior High and Middle School Students. Young women who wish to audition for the Tiger Eyes Visual Ensemble on April 9-10 may now download an application from the Tiger Eyes Audition page. Applications are due on March 19, 2010. Visit the audition page for more details, and good luck to all those auditioning!

A joint concert by the AU Symphonic Band and Opelika High School Band will be held in memory of Sarah Anderson on Monday, January 25, 7:30pm, at the Opelika Performing Arts Center at Opelika High School. Admission is free, but donations are encourages and will be used to start a Sarah Anderson Memorial Scholarship. A Google Map and the full press release follow after the break. (more…)

The date of Kappa Kappa Psi’s Five Guys fundraiser has been changed to to Tuesday, January 26th from 5-9pm. 10% of all purchases made that evening will automatically be donated to fund the Sarah Anderson Memorial Scholarship. We hope you come support this worthy cause!

Congratulations to James Earl Corely and Daniel Toner who will be returning as AUMB Drum Majors for the 2010-11 season. James Earl will be serving as our Head Drum Major in this coming season. Our new Drum Major for the 2010 season will be Daniel Johnson. Congratulations again and WAR EAGLE!

“When we heard of the Auburn fans chanting at the end of [the Iron Bowl] ‘It’s great to be an Auburn Tiger’ we knew there was something special about the excitement around this football team,” Jim McVay, Outback Bowl President/CEO said. “The Tigers have everything we are looking for in a New Year’s Day team – they are a tough, exciting team, extremely well coached and have what might be the best fans in college football.” The AUMB will be in Tampa and the surrounding area December 29 through January 1st to demonstrate the Auburn Spirit and cheer on our Auburn Tigers to a bowl game victory.
