The Auburn University Symphonic Winds and the Robertsdale High School Symphonic Band will perform Saturday, May 1 at 2 p.m. in Faith Family Fellowship Church in Spanish Fort. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and children under 12 will be admitted free. Proceeds from the concert will be used to establish the Sarah Anderson Memorial Scholarship. The Auburn University Symphonic Winds will perform an All-State host concert “A Night of American Composers” on Friday, April 16th, at 8:00 pm in Lakeview Baptist Church. A select group of fifty-four musicians, the Symphonic Winds is the premier performing ensemble in the Auburn University Band program. The concert is in conjunction with the Alabama All-State Band Festival being held on the Auburn University campus. The conductor of the Symphonic Winds is Dr. Rick Good, Director of Bands and Professor of Music. (more…)

A joint concert by the AU Symphonic Band and Opelika High School Band will be held in memory of Sarah Anderson on Monday, January 25, 7:30pm, at the Opelika Performing Arts Center at Opelika High School.  Admission is free, but donations are encourages and will be used to start a Sarah Anderson Memorial Scholarship.  A Google Map and the full press release follow after the break. The Auburn University Bands is proud to participate in this year’s Sounds of Auburn concert.  The Auburn Department of Music is presenting Sounds of Auburn on Thursday, November 5th, at 7:30 p.m. in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. The concert will showcase the student ensembles of the Auburn University band and choral departments, featuring the marching band, chamber choir, steel drum band, singers, symphonic band, gospel choir and jazz band. Admission is free, but donations of canned goods will be accepted for the Beat Bama Food Drive.
