The Auburn Tigers weathered the storm last weekend to boost their record to 3-0.  Our favorite football team will now take on the Ball State Cardinals this Saturday.  The Auburn University Marching Band will host its Marching Honor Band that same day, providing a special halftime show that showcases the talent of hundreds of top high school marching band students alongside the AUMB.  Marching Honor Band participants can learn more about Gameday details by visiting the Marching Honor Band webpage.  Gameday details for our other fans follows after the break. For those of you who were selected to participate in the 2009 Auburn University Marching Honor Band on Saturday, September 26th, we’ve just posted registration packets to download and print.  In order to participate in the festival, we need to receive the included release form, along with the registration fee, by Tuesday, September 22nd.  For full details, please visit the Marching Honor Band page.

The Auburn University Bands would like to thank everyone who applied for our 2009 Marching Honor Band.  Selecting only a few of you was a difficult process as always, and we hope to encourage everyone who was not accepted this year to apply again next year.  For a list of our accepted students, and instructions on registering for the festival, please visit the Marching Honor Band page.  WAR EAGLE!

All band directors who have students applying to join the 2009 Auburn University Marching Honor Band Festival must submit their recommendations by Tuesday via the online form sent through email on Friday.  If there are any issues, please email us at band@auburn.edu to resolve the problem.  Thank you for supporting your students and our festival!

Due to an unfortunate technical difficulty with the online application server, some of you experienced issues in submitting an application last night.  In order to ensure that everyone has a chance to apply to our honor band festival, we are pushing back previously announced deadlines for Marching Honor Band applications.  The application deadline has now passed.  Directors will soon be contacted for their recommendations. High school students interested in joining us for our fifth annual Marching Honor Band Festival on September 26th, 2009, may now apply online.  Program details can be found on the Marching Honor Band page, and you can apply online here.  Applications close on August 20th, so be sure to apply soon!  We look forward to having you join us this fall.

For our AUMB members who will be living in an AU Residence Hall this coming fall, we’ve provided details on Early Move-In on the Preseason Camp page.  You MUST contact Housing to let them know you will be attending AUMB Preseason Camp or you will not be able to move in early.  Visit the Preseason Camp page for full details.

The application files (available in Adobe PDF format) for each Summer Camp have been updated with extra forms, including Medical Release forms.  For those of you who have already submitted an application, we ask that you download a new application and either mail ahead these extra forms, or bring them with you to registration.  If you have yet to apply, we ask that you send the entire application at once.  We have pushed back the application deadline to June 1st for all of our camps, so there’s still time to register if you haven’t already!  Visit the Summer Camps page for an application.  We look forward to having you here at Auburn University!
