Drum Majors

Aaron Thompson

Aaron Thompson - rat0011@auburn.edu

War Eagle! My name is Aaron Thompson and I am honored to serve as your Head Drum Major for the 2018-2019 season! I am a 5th year senior pursuing concurrent degrees in Music Education and Oboe Performance. I am from Mobile, AL and I graduated from Baker High School in 2014. This will be my fifth season in the AUMB, and my second as Drum Major after spending three seasons as a member of the Horn Section. Outside of the Marching Band, I have participated in various ensembles including the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Chamber Choir, Orchestra, Double Reed Ensemble, and Woodwind Quintet. I am also a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity, and a member of National Band Association, AU Music Ambassadors, Phi Kappa Phi, and the International Double Reed Society.

Becoming a member of the AUMB has been one of the best decisions that I have made during my time at Auburn. Going away to college can be intimidating and overwhelming, but the AUMB welcomed me into the family and made going away to college feel more like coming home. This organization has blessed me with lifelong friends, incredible experiences, and invaluable life lessons that have not only made me a better leader and musician but have also made me a better person.

If you have any questions about the AUMB, music at Auburn, or really anything about Auburn, feel free to e-mail me or find me and message me on Facebook! I'm truly excited for you to join the Auburn Band family! WAR EAGLE!

Trey Bruce

Trey Bruce - rgb0017@auburn.edu

War Eagle! My name is Trey Bruce, and I am thrilled to serve as one of the Drum Majors for the Auburn University Marching Band during the 2018-2019 season! I am an upcoming junior from Birmingham, AL majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering. This will be my third season in the AUMB including two seasons marching as a trumpet player. In addition to the AUMB, I have participated in Basketball Pep Band for the past two seasons. I am also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity, as well as other non-music organizations on campus such as Engineers Without Borders.

I have loved the AUMB for about as long as I can remember. One of my oldest memories of the band is watching the 2010 National Championship game and hearing the band play Party Like a Rockstar to get the crowd pumped up during a crucial video review. Marching band has always been one of my favorite activities, and I knew it was something that I wanted to continue doing at Auburn even though I am pursuing a career in Engineering. Being part of such a prestigious program and getting to serve something bigger than myself has been a huge blessing during my time at Auburn. If you have any questions about anything Auburn related please feel free to email me or connect with me through social media. I can’t wait to see all of you at preseason camp!!

Millie Livingston

Millie Livingston - aml0059@auburn.edu

War Eagle! My name is Millie Livingston and I am honored to serve as one of the Drum Majors of the Auburn University Marching Band for the 2018 season! I am from Birmingham, Alabama, and I am entering my Junior year, pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences. Though this will be my first year serving in a leadership capacity, this will be my third year in the AUMB having marched two years in the Alto Saxophone section. Outside of the Marching Band, I am a member of the Panhellenic Sorority Alpha Omicron Pi and am an active member of First Baptist Church Opelika.

I decided to become a member of the AUMB because I saw the deep tradition in which the band is rooted and the impact it has on the fans. I believe that the Auburn Marching Band is an integral part of what fuels the family spirit that makes Auburn unique, and I could not imagine missing out on an opportunity to be a part of that. I have learned so much from my time in the AUMB about responsibility, hard work, and giving to something bigger than myself. Being selected to lead the band this year is a humbling opportunity and a great privilege, and I look forward to serving alongside of you to make the band, the students and the Auburn Family proud. If you have any questions about the band, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Facebook or through email. I look forward to seeing you at preseason camp! War Eagle!

I'm majoring in Nursing and hope to pursue a career in Pediatrics upon graduation. I am from Dallas, Texas, and graduated high school in 2016 from Ursuline Academy of Dallas. I spun for three years in high school, and this Fall will be my third season on the AUMB Flagline. In addition to spinning, I also play the violin, piano, french horn, and a little bit of guitar and ukulele. Being a member of the AUMB has changed my life for the better. I am so grateful for this amazing organization and everything it has taught me. There is an amazing sense of family here that cannot be replicated. I am so excited to share it with you and can't wait for preseason camp! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out and email me! War Eagle!
