Drum Majors

Gerritt Keaton

Gerritt Keaton (Head Drum Major)

War Eagle! My name is Gerritt Keaton, and I am honored to return for my second season as Drum Major of the Auburn University Marching Band and my first season as Head Drum Major.

Prior to coming to Auburn in the fall of 2011, I graduated from Priceville High School near Decatur, AL. While at Priceville, I served as drum major of the marching band for three years as well as principal trumpet of the wind ensemble for two years under the direction of Troy Allaway. During my time here at Auburn I have played with the Campus Band and Basketball Pep Band in addition to the two years I marched as a member of the AUMB trumpet section. I am also proud to be a brother of the Pi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honorary Fraternity for College Band members of which I am the Chapter Liaison to the colony at UA Tuscaloosa. On campus, you may find me at Lowder Hall, as I am pursuing a degree in Business Management.

I have no doubt that this season will be just as exciting as the last for Auburn students, alumni and fans! I know that the marching band will be a major part of that excitement as we perform at the highest level possible each and every week. As we work to achieve that goal, I cannot wait to see the new friendships and experiences we share as we all grow together once again in the fall; not as just an organization, but as a family.

I look forward to meeting all of you at preseason camp this summer! I am always available to answer questions or to hear your comments, so, feel free to email me or find me on the Facebook. War Eagle!

Jake Finn

Jake Finn

War Eagle! My name is Jake Finn, and I will be serving as one of your drum majors for the 2014 - 2015 season.  I graduated from Montevallo High School in 2008 and transferred to Auburn from the University of Montevallo (where I studied music education) in the Fall of 2011.  I am now a Senior studying Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Tribology.  This will be my fourth year in the AUMB and third year on the leadership team, including two previous years as tuba section leader.  I have served 5 years in the army reserves, stationed in Birmingham, Al with the 313th Army Band. I have also played bass trombone and euphonium with the Auburn Symphonic winds for three years and tuba with the Dean’s Brass Quintet for two years.

Through all of my experiences in both school and band, I have found that one of the most important qualities of a successful program is ‘family.’   The transition from high school to college can be rough, but with the help of your colleagues, you can do anything.  I strongly believe in the spirit of the AUMB, and that every bit of hard work that you put into this program will be reciprocated back to you.  We are highly revered on campus, and for good reason.  The AUMB promotes responsibility, integrity, passion, hard work, and leadership.  Not only will you take these qualities with you as you move on to new stages in your life, but you will also gain a new network of friends that is stronger than any other you may have experienced.  I hope that you consider joining the AUMB family, and if you have any questions concerning your future at Auburn University please feel free to shoot me an email!

War Eagle everyone!! My name is Annie Scibetta, and I’m so honored to be serving as one of your drum majors for the 2014-2015 season! I’m heading into my senior year at Auburn majoring in International Business with a concentration in Spanish & Marketing as well as minoring in Non-Profit & Philanthropy studies. I’ve been a proud member of the piccolo section for the past three years, and I’m looking forward to stepping into this new role as drum major to give back to the program I love so much!

I am from Birmingham, AL where I graduated from Oak Mountain High School in 2011. I served there as a drum major for two years, and in that time I discovered my passion to lead and help others. In my time here at Auburn, I have been an active member of the Auburn University Student Recruiters, Auburn Symphonic Winds, Sigma Phi Lambda, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Service Sorority and First Baptist Church of Opelika.

The Auburn family has manifested itself in several ways to me, especially through the close bonds of the AUMB. I am beyond blessed to be a part of such a hard-working, dedicated, and dynamic program! It will undoubtedly be the most rewarding experience of your time here at Auburn! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time! Being a part of an organization that so strongly embodies the values of the Auburn Creed has helped me become the person I am today, and I can’t wait to get started with another exciting season!
