DeZayveon Dickerson
Short Bio
DeZayveon Dickerson is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Auburn University Bands, where he is currently pursuing a Master of Music Education. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn in 2023, graduating summa cum laude after a high-involved undergraduate career. During that time, he held several leadership roles, including Head Drum Major of the Auburn University Marching Band, Trumpet Section Leader, R.A.T. Leader and Student Conductor of the AU Gospel Choir.
Before returning to Auburn for his graduate studies, DeZayveon served as the Associate Director of Bands at Hillcrest High School, leading the Symphonic, Concert, and Jazz ensembles. His previous experience also includes time as the Director of Bands at Sanford Middle School and as a music teacher for Camp Woodmont. Outside of the classroom, he performed with the Tuscaloosa Big Band and arranged halftime shows for high school programs across Alabama.
DeZayveon is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. His performance history at Auburn includes participation in the Symphonic Winds, Trumpet Ensemble, Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Campus Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Men’s Chorus, and the Gospel Choir.
