Dr. Rick Good has served as the Director of Bands at Auburn University since 2007, earning rank of Professor of Music in 2009. He has served as Department Chair since December 2016. In addition to his Chair responsibilities, his current duties include conducting the Auburn University Symphonic Band and Symphonic Winds, the university’s top, premiere wind and percussion ensemble; overseeing the development of all Auburn University bands; and teaching both graduate and undergraduate conducting and wind literature courses. Corey Spurlin serves as Marching Band Director, Associate Director of Bands, and Professor of Music at Auburn University. In addition to his work with the Sudler-winning Auburn Marching Band, Dr. Spurlin conducts the Concert Band, Campus Band, and is associate conductor of the Auburn Symphonic Winds. He also teaches courses in conducting, wind band literature, music history, and marching band techniques. Under his direction, the Auburn University Marching Band, with 380 students, has the largest membership in university history and has performed three times at the Southeastern Conference Championship and twice at BCS National Championship Games, as well as the Chick-fil-a Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Outback Bowl, and Birmingham Bowl, and overseas at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. Under his direction, four performances by the Auburn University Marching Band have been selected for recognition and viewing at national and regional conferences of the College Band Directors National Association. With the Auburn Symphonic Winds, Dr. Spurlin has conducted works at the CBDNA Southern Division Conference, the Alabama Music Education Association Conference, and overseas during the ensemble’s tours of China and Italy.... Dr. Doug RosenerDr. Doug Rosener

Doug Rosener received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Penn State University, his Master’s in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas, and completed his Doctorate in Percussion Performance at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He has performed with many professional orchestras including the Altoona Symphony, the Boulder Philharmonic, the Sinfonia of Colorado, the Colorado Ballet Company Orchestra, and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. He has recorded CDs with the North Texas Wind Symphony, North Texas Chamber Players, and has been a regular drummer with several professional musical theater companies. Nikki Gross serves as the Assistant Director of Athletic Bands at Auburn University. Prior to her appointment at Auburn she served as Director of Athletic Bands at Indiana State University, marching and concert band director at the University of Dayton, and Assistant Director of Bands at West Virginia University. Johnnie Vinson was Director of Bands and Professor of Music at Auburn University from 1991 through 2007. A member of the Auburn faculty since 1969, Dr. Vinson previously served as Assistant Band Director, then as Associate Director and Director of the Marching Band before becoming Director of Bands. Sarah Ferguson is the Administrator for the Auburn University Bands.  Ms. Ferguson earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she served as principal saxophonist for the St. Olaf Band, and played in various chamber and jazz ensembles.
